WACKER’s Big Move: New Silicone Hub Opens in West Bengal!

WACKER has marked a significant milestone in its India expansion with the inauguration of a new silicone production complex at its Panagarh site in West Bengal.

Spread across 15,000 square metres, the facility manufactures GMP-certified silicone emulsions for the cosmetics and personal care industry, in full compliance with European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) guidelines. The expansion is set to substantially enhance WACKER’s silicone emulsion production capacity in India.

The new plant is expected to generate around 60 jobs and will cater to both domestic manufacturers and global consumer goods companies, strengthening WACKER’s regional supply chain and ensuring reliable delivery amid rising demand.

WACKER’s joint venture, Wacker Metroark Chemicals (WMC), is a key supplier of silicone raw materials used in cosmetics, shampoos, and other personal care products. This expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting the fast-growing personal care sector in India while maintaining high standards of quality and operational excellence.
